Pick the fluid by the ground

The right drilling fluid keeps the bore open, carries the cuttings out and cuts torque and pump pressure. We are a reseller of ProAction Fluids, and the seven products in the ProBore series are compatible with each other — so you start from one base fluid and add what the ground calls for.

  • Clay and other low-density soils: ProDrill as the base, with ProDyne and ClayLock as needed
  • Sand, gravel and rock: GeoSweep HD or GeoSweep LQ, or TurboBore as a single product
  • Jobs with restrictions on hydrocarbons: ProDrill ECO, water-based and oil-free

What each product does

TurboBore
Synthetic polymer HDD fluid

TurboBore

TurboBore is ProAction's synthetic polymer HDD fluid: polymers that activate when they meet water. It is a single-product system for sand and rocky soil, and according to ProAction it can match or exceed a traditional bentonite mix with up to 85% less material weight — less freight, less to store and less to lift.

  • One product does it all — no recipes and no extra additives
  • Fluidises the cuttings, for lower torque
  • High gel strength carries heavy debris out of the bore
  • The polymer matrix on the bore wall controls fluid loss
  • Does not freeze: it thickens in the cold but stays usable
ProDrill
Soil stabiliser and viscosifier

ProDrill

ProDrill is an anionic multi-polymer blend that builds viscosity and binds clay and other low-density solids. It leaves a slick bore and smooth, creamy cuttings, and it also reduces friction on the pipe, which lowers the pump pressure and spares the pump.

  • Hydrates rapidly
  • Lower pump pressures
  • High cuttings content in the returns, and less clean-up
  • The base of the ProBore series — and it can be combined with bentonite
  • In soils that are mainly clay it can replace bentonite outright
ProDrill ECO
Water-based, hydrocarbon-free

ProDrill ECO

ProDrill ECO is a water-based polymer blend that binds clay and other low-density solids the way ProDrill does, but with no oil and no hydrocarbons. It is the alternative for projects that restrict oil-based or hydrocarbon carrier fluids.

  • 100% oil- and hydrocarbon-free
  • Hydrates rapidly
  • Works with ClayLock, ProDyne and the rest of the range
  • Freezes at 0 °C, but thaws and is fully usable again
ProDyne
Drilling detergent and water conditioner

ProDyne

ProDyne is a water-based, non-foaming drilling detergent and water conditioner. It softens hard or mineral-rich water so the polymers hydrate faster, and it water-wets the rods and the tooling so sticky clay lets go — for longer tool life and lower drilling temperatures.

  • Softens hard water, for faster polymer hydration
  • Non-foaming
  • Keeps the bit clean in sticky clay
  • Disperses easily, with little mixing energy
  • A low-cost upgrade for bores otherwise drilled on water only
ClayLock
Clay control additive

ClayLock

ClayLock is a clay inhibitor for reactive clays. It binds the clay platelets together and keeps water from getting in between them — the root cause of swelling — so the bore stays open and the clay stops grabbing the pipe.

  • Stops reactive clays from swelling
  • Keeps the clay from breaking down in the bore
  • Lower torque: pipe and tooling stay free
  • Water-based, and needs little mixing energy
  • In bentonite mixes: add it after the bentonite is fully hydrated
GeoSweep HD
Viscosifier, lubricant and filtration control

GeoSweep HD

GeoSweep HD is a high-molecular-weight multi-polymer blend in granules: viscosifier, lubricant and friction reducer in one, for dense and permeable ground from sand to rock. The coated granules cut dust and clumping and disperse easily when mixing.

  • Less thrust and rotation force, thanks to a slick bore wall
  • Gel strength that floats coarse sand and gravel out of the hole
  • Builds a filter cake that keeps the fluid in the bore
  • 100% silica-free
GeoSweep LQ
Liquid version of GeoSweep HD

GeoSweep LQ

GeoSweep LQ has the same active chemistry as GeoSweep HD, blended into a liquid slurry for quick dispersion and rapid hydration. The same job — viscosifier, lubricant and friction reducer for sand, gravel and rock — in a form that mixes faster.

  • Carries coarse cuttings out and seals the bore wall
