One-piece forged drill pipe from Hunting — HIWS1, HXT and Ditch Witch-thread — plus the welded Advantage Series, for Vermeer, Ditch Witch and other rigs.
Hunting heat-treats, upsets and threads its drill pipe at its own plant in Broussard, Louisiana, and every pipe is traceable. The one-piece forged design has no joints and no welds between tube and tool joint.
On the market since 1997. A steep-tapered, deep-stabbing connection with a fast-pitch thread for quick make-up and break-out, and a double shoulder for added torque. Forged in a special I-145-grade alloy with internal and external upset.
Hunting's high-torque connection: according to Hunting 30% more torque and up to 44% more flow capacity. The best choice for air hammers and mud motors.
Welded drill pipe with the same connections, in the most common sizes — the economical choice when one-piece forged is not required.
Sixteen pipes, from 1.315″ tube for the D6x6 up to 3.500″ for the D100x140. In Hunting's price list this is the FS1 series.
